HUBUNGAN PENGETAHUAN DAN PERSEPSI DENGAN MINAT SISWA SMU UNTUK MELANJUTKAN STUDI DI BIDANG PERASURANSIAN (STUDI KASUS DI SMAN 59 DAN SMKN 48 JAKARTA TIMUR)

Abstract


An insurance company is a non-bank financial institution which is engaged in providing services to the public in dealing with risks that will occur in the future. Insurance is a risk transfer agreement between two parties where there is a risk transfer from the first party to the second party. Insurance is still poorly understood by Indonesians including high school students in it. Therefore more education is needed to the public regarding insurance. This research aims to determine the relationship of knowledge and perception to the interest of high school students to continue their studies in the field of insurance (case studies at SMAN 59 and SMKN 48 in east Jakarta). The research method used in this study is quantitative. The population in this study were students of class XII at SMAN 59 and SMKN 48 east Jakarta. The variables used in this research were independent variables i.e. knowledge and perception the dependent variables were the interest of high school students to continue their studies in the field of insurance. The results and conclusions in this research show that a partial test (t test) for knowledge (X1) relates to interest of high school students to continue their studies in the field of insurance (Y) this is prove with a significance t value of < 0.05 and perception (X2) related to interest of high school students to continue their studies in the field of insurance (Y) This is prove with a significance t value of 0.001 < 0.05. Simultaneous test (F test ) of knowledge and perception to interest of high school students to continue their studies in the field of insurance, with F count is 58,147 > 3.96 F table, and the significance F value is 0.000 < 0.05 of the alpha value. The results of the analysis showed that in the coefficient of determination test (R Square) was obtained 0.589 o r 58.9% which means that the variable of knowledge and perception has a relation 58.9% to the interest of high school students to continue their studies in the field of insurance and 41.1% others are influenced by many other factors that not described in this research.
